5 Things All Cat Owners Tell Their Pets

Do you talk to your cat? If so, you’re not alone. While there’s no doubt that kitties make great listeners, the jury is still out on how much human language Fluffy actually comprehends. That said, we have a sneaking suspicion that our feline friends understand at least a few key phrases. A Cameron Park, CA vet lists some of them in this article.

What Are You Doing In There?

Cats are renowned for their sense of curiosity. Your feline friend will explore every inch of her domain, and will be particularly interested in small, enclosed spaces, like closets, cabinets, and baskets. (We’ll leave Fluffy’s box obsession for another post.) Sooner or later, you’ll find yourself asking your kitty this question.

Get Down From There

Kitties can’t really see very much from ground level, so it’s no surprise that they like high places. Fluffy is often looking for a better vantage spot, so she can survey her domain with that content, superior look kitties do so well. As far as cats are concerned, the top of a dresser or bookcase is a perfect perch!

I Have To Move You

You’ve probably noticed that our feline buddies are rather fond of sleeping. Kitties love finding new, comfy spots to snuggle up in. Fluffy also has a habit of getting comfortable in baskets of fresh laundry and half-packed suitcases. You might feel bad relocating your sleeping furball from your chair, or moving her from the book or magazine she’s snoozing on, but sometimes it just has to be done.

You’re Not Helping

Cats are very considerate little furballs. Your kitty may try to lend a helping paw with such things as packing suitcases, making beds, wrapping gifts, or folding laundry. It’s a sweet thought, but at the end of the day, we often do better without Fluffy’s assistance.

I Need To Get Up

One of kitties’ most endearing qualities is their habit of curling up on top of their owners for naps. While settling in with a purring feline can be very relaxing, we really can’t spend all of our time being cat furniture. If your furball is a lap cat, sooner or later, you’ll likely say this to her.
