New Year’s Resolutions for Lazy Cats

Happy New Year! Are you making resolutions this year? If so, your feline buddy will be right there with you as you aim for new goals. If your cat could make resolutions, what do you think they would look like? Kittens may aim to perfect their pounces or figure out how their claws work, but older cats may have something more relaxing in mind. Read on as a local Cameron Park, CA vet lists some resolutions for kitties that just can’t be bothered to do very much.

Stretch More

Stretching is very good for you. It helps you stay flexible, and can help you work out knots when you feel stiff or sore. Your furball may try to do a little kitty yoga routine when she gets up after a long nap. Then again, Fluffy will probably immediately take another nap after she has finished stretching.

Aim For Even Fur Distribution

One duty Fluffy takes very seriously is making sure that there are proper amounts of cat fur on your clothing and furniture. Your kitty may adjust her napping schedule to make sure she doesn’t overlook any areas.

Quality Time

Fluffy may very well vow to spend more quality time with you this year, perhaps by sleeping in your lap or snuggling up with you at night.

Pounce On Something. At Least Once

Cats are very playful when they are young, but they slow down—way down—as they grow older. While a kitten may just want to play all the time, older furballs may aim low when it comes to exercising. Play with your kitty regularly to tempt her into moving more often.

Supervise The Human

Our feline friends like to keep a close eye on their human buddies. Your four-legged couch potato may try to supervise you more carefully in the coming months… from her kitty bed or a sofa.

Get Some Sun

Cats just can’t seem to resist soaking up some sun. Your furball may spend her morning, mid-morning, and afternoon maps in her favorite sunbeam. Fluffy doesn’t actually run on solar, but she may have missed that memo.

All of us here at Vet Healing Center El Dorado, your local Cameron Park, CA pet clinic, want to wish you a wonderful new year. We look forward to providing your lazy cat with great veterinary care in 2019 and beyond.
