Our Practice

Veterinary Healing Center of El Dorado Hills is a different kind of pet health care center. Although we certainly offer many of the same medical, dental, diagnostic, and surgical services as other hospitals, along with several alternative treatment options, what truly sets us apart is the way we deliver our care. From the moment you first walk through the doors of our clinic, you’ll know you’ve come home…to a place where you and your furry friend are more than just some appointment on the calendar, but instead are a part of our extended family.

Our hospital is made complete with a team of highly skilled, dedicated veterinary professionals. We truly enjoy working together, which is evident in the warm, friendly atmosphere felt throughout the clinic. We operate with a high level of professionalism, but we’re also not afraid to have fun. Interacting with you and your pet is truly the highlight of our day. Wagging tails, throaty purrs, and smiling pet parents are what drive us to always do our very best in everything we do.

We offer a comprehensive array of traditional veterinary services which are complemented with a number of Eastern medicine options, from wellness care and surgery, to acupuncture and homeopathy. We believe that when it comes to providing your pet with the best possible life, the more choices you have the better. Our integrated system of care allows us to help your pet work toward total well-being – body, mind, and spirit.

Our care is delivered in a way that focuses on each patient as an individual. When you and your pet are with us, you will have our undivided attention. We have earned the reputation of being extremely thorough with our patients while always maintaining the highest level of integrity. You can expect honest answers, clear explanations, and plenty of options. Our goal is to not only help improve the life of your pet, but also to partner with you in helping you make the most informed decisions for your family.

Our hospital is pristine, right down to its clean, fresh scent, which we believe helps to make visits with us a positive and stress-free experience. There are even separate waiting areas for dogs and cats. We offer convenient hours to accommodate your busy schedule, with drop-off appointments, emergency options, walk-ins, and weekend availability. This allows us to be as accessible as possible so that you can rest easy, knowing that when your pet needs care, we’ll be here to provide it.

At Veterinary Healing Center of El Dorado Hills, our mission is to become not just your family vet, but your trusted, lifelong partner. We want to be there for you – by your side, every step of the way on this incredible journey of pet ownership. The more we work together, the better the chances that we can help that special little friend of yours enjoy many happy, healthy years.

Let’s start that journey together today. Give us a call, or better yet…stop by any time. We’ll be waiting to welcome you both with open arms!

I'm very happy with Veterinary Healing Center of El Dorado Hills. They have treated both my dogs, and have specialized their treatment to their individual needs. I appreciate the fact they are interested in what's best for the dog, not what I've experienced with other clinicians.

Brought PeeWee, who lost use of his back legs, in today for the first time and were treated with calm and care. I love the Eastern approach and we all have high hopes that acupuncture, laser treatment, and some herbs will fix the hitch in his giddyup and restore his youthful step again. Fingers crossed.

Dr. McKerney has been treating my cockapoo, Waldo, with accutpunture for a couple of months now due to a spinal injry that resulted in paralization in the hind area. Waldo can now walk, a little wobbly. When recommended to me we did not know if Waldo would ever be able to walk again. Dr, McKerney is worth our drive (50miles) and time. She was also very thorough in reviewing all of Waldo's medical records prior to seeing him. Waldo is never expereinces any anxiety about going - that says a lot!

Our dog Mucho was in intense pain last Christmas and having trouble walking. After a few weeks of rest and pain medication Dr Cahoon began treating him with laser and acupuncture therapy along with Chinese herbs. We are happy to report Mucho is now a happy active fellow. As we continue with his therapy, we are very grateful for this wonderful veterinary clinic.
