Diagnostics

Imagine how great it would be if our pets could speak. That way, whenever they weren’t feeling well or had been injured in some way, they could simply tell us what was bothering them or point to where it hurt. Unfortunately, our animal companions cannot communicate in this way, making managing their health quite a challenge.

When a physical exam simply isn’t enough to diagnose the problem, we turn to veterinary diagnostics to help us get the answers we need. These tools provide a glimpse inside your pet’s body, which can help us to identify, diagnose and treat medical problems in a timely manner. Whether it’s a simple blood test, or more advanced imaging like an x-ray or ultrasound, we’ve got the equipment and experience to get to the bottom of whatever may be ailing your animal friend. A faster diagnosis means a quicker, more effective treatment plan which means a better outcome for your loved one.

Veterinary Healing Center of El Dorado Hills offers both routine and advanced diagnostic care services. Our hospital is outfitted with modern equipment which allows us to run a wide variety of tests right in-house, while you and your pet wait in the exam room. This is especially beneficial for those illnesses and injuries for which a timely diagnosis and treatment plan are critical. Rest assured that our focus is always on getting the answers we need as quickly and accurately as we can for you and your companion.

Our pets don’t have the ability to speak, so it’s up to us to become a voice for them. Veterinary diagnostics allow us to do just that, managing their health in the most effective and efficient way possible. If your loved one seems to be a bit under the weather and you suspect an illness or injury may be to blame, give us a call right away. We’ll do everything within our power to get that special guy or gal back on his or her feet again as soon as possible.

We started seeing Dr Cahoon and Dr McKerney because we needed alternative health care for our 12yr old mutt. We specifically chose Veterinary Healing Center for their knowledge and experience with Eastern Medicine applications. Our family is overjoyed for our pet and the pain relief he is now experiencing since starting his treatment plan just a few months ago. The staff is always friendly and attentive. The prices are comparable to other veterinary offices. I highly recommend their services for your pets needs.

Our dog Mucho was in intense pain last Christmas and having trouble walking. After a few weeks of rest and pain medication Dr Cahoon began treating him with laser and acupuncture therapy along with Chinese herbs. We are happy to report Mucho is now a happy active fellow. As we continue with his therapy, we are very grateful for this wonderful veterinary clinic.

The Veterinary Healing Center in El Dorado Hills is fantastic. My cat Marshmallow and I have been with them for a year. I brought Marshmallow there for a second opinion about his breathing problems because of asthma and upper respiratory issues. He was getting injections about every 6 weeks, and those many trips to the vet were very stressful on him. Dr. McKerney, took Marshmallow off the injections - steroids and convenia – and put him on a tablet of doxycycline. She felt that his main issue is upper respiratory. Marsh has not had any breathing problems for a year, and he is happy to take his pill in a pill pocket! I have such a positive experience when Marshmallow and I visit. Marsh is not the best behaved patient, and Dr. McKerney is wonderful and is always so patient and gentle with him, and the staff is patient and gentle with him, too – I am grateful, and thankful!!

I'm always comfortable taking my pets to see Dr. Cahoon, whether it's my rats or my dog he has always shown compassion. He never overcomplicates a situation or problem which always makes the visit a little bit easier. He has been seeing my 10 year old epileptic dog since he was a puppy and recently performed a very successful surgery on my rat(yes rat💗🐀 )
