Bradley Cahoon, DVM, CVA
Veterinarian
When he was only six years old, Dr. Cahoon knew he was destined to become a veterinarian. He often accompanied his father to appointments for their family pets at the local veterinary hospital and was completely captivated by the animals—and by the compassion and skill the doctors showed while caring for them. From that moment on, he never passed up an opportunity to tag along to the vet’s office.
Dr. Cahoon grew up in Whittier and graduated high school as class valedictorian in 1976. He went on to attend the University of California, Davis, where he completed his pre-veterinary studies and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Physiology. In 1987, he graduated from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. He worked full-time as an emergency veterinarian until 1998, gaining extensive experience in critical and urgent care cases.
Emergency medicine remains Dr. Cahoon’s true passion. The unpredictable nature of emergency care challenges him to think quickly and draw on the full depth of his training and experience to help save pets’ lives. He also enjoys integrating Eastern medical approaches with traditional Western medicine and became a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist in 2013. Dr. Cahoon has seen outstanding results with this integrative approach and continues to incorporate it into his treatment plans.
Veterinary medicine has always been central to Dr. Cahoon’s life, alongside his family. He and his wife, Pam, have two accomplished daughters. His daughter Holly Cahoon, DVM, has followed in his footsteps and is now an associate veterinarian at the Veterinary Healing Center. His daughter Cori Cahoon, PhD, lives in Colorado and is an assistant professor whose research focuses on genetics, fertility, and the impact of environmental factors on reproductive health.
